Silas Macharia

Silas currently works as an Innovation Center Leader for East Africa in IBM.

He is responsible for running the Innovation Center which creates an Immersive Customers to experience Environment of IBM Technology. He is a Design Thinking and Agile Practitioner, which he uses for Customer Discovery workshops, use case identification and technology adoption.

He previously was an Offering Manager for Africa key responsibility was market segment strategy, driving market acceptance and client satisfaction, while providing leadership to design, sales and marketing for routes to market planning

Silas has led the first implementation of Research Based Open Data Platform using API’s (catalogue and Marketplace) on the continent. Silas has been instrumental in naturalizing technology to capture African Context.

He has significant expertise in the areas of enterprise Cloud ,Cognitive AI, Blockchain, Mobile technologies, Open Data, Disruptions and Data Monetization technology having taken on diverse roles through his career with I.T. Space and Beyond.

Silas spends significant amounts of time presenting to clients enabling them to deliver exceptions customer experience to the end customer. In addition he uses techniques and frameworks from Blue Ocean Shift and Jobs to be Done Theory.

Silas previously worked at a Technology Company that was a winner of Two Global Awards in the space of supply chain management
Prior to IBM, Silas held various position in I.T. and In Business: Virtual City , South Sudan and Hotel Industry. Silas has over 15 years experience working in the ICT Industry across Africa leading in Offering/Product Software consulting engagement to enable customers meet business objectives. Holds a BSc. Electrical Computer Systems from Loughborough University UK
